Lundbeck: $2.5 Billion Acquisition of Longboard Adds Potential Blockbuster Candidate to Portfolio

On Oct. 14, Lundbeck announced it will acquire Longboard Pharmaceuticals for $2.5 billion (approximately DKK 17 billion) in a strategic deal to enhance its neuroscience pipeline. Longboard’s lead asset, bexicaserin, appears to hold blockbuster potential, and it is in development for the treatment of patients suffering from rare and severe epilepsies associated with Dravet syndrome, Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, and other developmental and epileptic encephalopathies, or DEEs.
