Mercedes Earnings: Sharp Decline in Profitability as Expected; Material Downside From US Tariffs

Mercedes reported revenue and EBIT declines of 7% and 41%, respectively, at the lower end of full-year guidance. If tariffs as of April 28 remain for the full year, guidance for midpoint EBIT margins reduce from 7% to 4% for cars and from 11% to 9% for vans. This excludes secondary market effects.
