L1 Group was formed through the merger of Platinum Asset Management, a well-known value-focused global equities manager founded in 1994, and L1 Capital, a diversified boutique manager focused on equities, alternatives, and property founded in 2007. L1 Group serves a diversified client base spanning retail and wholesale investors, high-net-worth clients, and institutional investors. It had approximately AUD 17 billion in funds under management as of June.

How we make money

We sell different types of products and services to both investment professionals and individual investors. These products and services are usually sold through license agreements or subscriptions. Our investment management business generates asset-based fees, which are calculated as a percentage of assets under management. We also sell both admissions and sponsorship packages for our investment conferences and advertising on our websites and newsletters.
