Corteva's Seeds Spinoff Will Leave a Pure-Play Crop Protection Company

Corteva is an agriculture pure play that was formed in 2019 when it was spun out of DowDuPont. The company is a global leader in seeds and crop protection products. Seeds generated around 66% of profits in 2025, with the remaining 34% coming from crop protection. Corteva plans to spin off its seed business in late 2026; the crop protection business will retain the Corteva name. The company develops its pipeline by investing around 8% of sales in research and development. New products should generate sales and profit growth even as patents expire and generic products enter the market.
