Meta announced on Sept. 28 that it is launching a new enterprise platform. CJ Desai from MongoDB will join the company as Chief Enterprise Platform Officer to lead the effort. Meta stock dropped 4% following the announcement.

On Sept. 8, 2026, Meta released Muse, a personal AI agent that can interact with the digital world and help users complete real-world tasks such as booking travel, making purchases, and managing communication. Shares of Meta are up more than 6% today.

Meta agreed to pay $17 billion in fines and make platform-level safety changes, including daily use limits, notification blocking, and overnight restriction aimed at teen users in a settlement. The proposed deal required court approval.

On April 8, Meta launched Muse Spark, a multimodal reasoning model with advanced tool use and agent orchestration capabilities. The model's performance on various industry benchmarks was loosely in line with state-of-the-art models such as Anthropic's Claude Opus 4.6 and Google's Gemini 3.1.

Meta faced two major legal blows in quick succession as verdicts in California and New Mexico cases went against the firm, imposing near-term financial penalties while also increasing longer-term regulatory risks for the broader social media space. Shares closed down 8% for the day.

AMD and Meta announced an expanded strategic partnership where Meta may deploy up to 6 gigawatts of AMD customized GPU solutions, with the first GW expected to begin in the second half of 2026. Meta has the option to acquire 160 million AMD shares via warrants.

Over the weekend, multiple news outlets reported that Meta was looking to invest around $10 billion in Scale AI, a startup that provides data labelling services to model developers. Scale AI's most recent funding round, back in 2024, valued the firm at $14 billion.
