Best Investments

Morningstar’s Best Investment lists of stocks, ETFs, and mutual funds are pre-filtered screens based on our independent analysis. They’re a curated subset of the broader investment universe based on a variety of Morningstar research metrics.

Best Investments lists can be accessed from the main navigation under the Investing Ideas tab.

You can choose from a variety of lists, from featured stocks to featured funds to securities that fall into a particular style or sector. When you click View Full List, you’ll see a brief description along with securities and their relevant ratings and data points.

To evaluate investment opportunities, you can approach the list in two ways:

• Use it as-is if the information displayed provides enough insight for you to make investing decisions.
• Alternatively, you could tailor the list to your investing strategy by opening the list in the Screener tool to layer on additional criteria.

If you’d like to open the list in Screener, click the Screen With Investor button. Some lists (specifically those that contain a blend of ETFs and mutual funds) will first require you to select an investment type before you can open the screener. When that’s the case, the Screen With Investor button will remain shaded until you make a selection.

When the Screener tool opens, you’ll see it is populated with the securities from the list you were just reviewing. Now you are free to customize the list with your preferred criteria and data points.
