Capital Expenditures

Capital expenditures is a calculated data point that can facilitate comparisons across companies. It includes all cash a company spends to acquire or maintain fixed assets and intangibles. This is calculated by summing up outflows such as property, plant, and equipment (PP&E), exploration and mine development costs, and intangibles, plus any other reported capital expenditures.

This data point reflects the exact dollar value, but legacy users of Morningstar’s Portfolio Manager tool will see it rounded to the nearest million.
