MetLife Announces New $3 Billion Share Repurchase Authorization
MetLife, Inc. (NYSE: MET) today announced that its board of directors has approved a new $3 billion authorization for the company to repurchase its common stock. The new authorization is incremental to the approximately $400 million remaining under the company’s prior authorization announced in April 2025.
“This new share repurchase authorization reflects our confidence in MetLife’s long-term outlook and continued ability to generate capital,” said MetLife President and Chief Executive Officer Michel Khalaf. “Our diversified business portfolio, financial strength and disciplined execution continue to support durable growth and attractive returns. Consistent with our New Frontier strategy, we remain committed to deploying capital where it creates the greatest long-term value for shareholders.”
