Former X CEO Linda Yaccarino Joins Better’s Board as Independent Director to Scale AI-Native Homeownership
One of the best-known executives in media, enterprise partnerships and technology joins as Better launches Better 2.0
Better Home & Finance Holding Company (NASDAQ: BETR) (“Better” or the “Company”), the leading AI-native home finance company, today announced that Linda Yaccarino, former Chief Executive Officer of X, has joined the Board as Independent Director effective October 15, 2026.
“Better is making life’s largest financial decision for an American family more affordable, more accessible, and more transparent with AI. I am excited to be a part of something so important,” said Yaccarino. “When we were building X Money, I saw how friction in financial services affects the lives of hardworking American families, and the single greatest friction is what families experience when getting a mortgage.”
Yaccarino has spent her career running some of the largest consumer businesses in media and technology. She is the first director appointed under Better 2.0, and she will focus on three priorities: using Better’s AI-native Tinman Platform to help more Americans own a home, holding the Company to strict cost discipline, and driving long-term shareholder value.
“Linda’s extensive experience in enterprise partnerships, advertising and consumer behavior serves Better very well,” said Vishal Garg, Better’s Founder and Head of Product, Platform & Innovation. “She has spent her career turning powerful technology into solutions that work for millions of consumers. With her on the Board, Better 2.0 is about scaling what we’ve built so more Americans can own a home.”
Yaccarino was CEO of X where she ran the company’s business operations, won back major advertisers, and expanded the platform into video and payments. Before X, she spent more than a decade as Chairman of Global Advertising & Partnerships at NBCUniversal, where she oversaw nearly $10 billion in annual advertising revenue and unified the company’s broadcast, cable, and digital businesses into a single organization. She began her career at Turner, where she spent two decades and rose to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of advertising sales, marketing, and acquisitions for Turner Entertainment.
“What interests me most about Better is driving technology innovation that serves a bigger purpose: accelerating homeownership and helping all Americans achieve their dreams, especially in light of the current economic situation,” Yaccarino concludes.
An inductee into the Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame and a recipient of the prestigious NYWICI Matrix Award, Yaccarino was awarded the RealClearPolitics Samizdat Prize in 2025 for her defense of free expression at X. She was also recognized as She Runs It Woman of the Year for her transformative leadership across media and tech.
