Dow Gets $540 Million as Macquarie Boosts Diamond Stake to 49%

By Colin Kellaher

Dow has sold an additional 9% stake in Diamond Infrastructure Solutions, the U.S. Gulf Coast infrastructure partnership it formed earlier this year with Macquarie Asset Management, to Macquarie for $540 million.

Dow on Tuesday said the sale boosts Macquarie's stake in the partnership to 49% and brings the Midland, Mich., chemical company's total cash proceeds from the deal to about $3 billion.

Dow earlier this year sold a 40% stake in select Gulf Coast infrastructure assets to Macquarie for $2.4 billion in a deal that included an option for the investment arm of Australian financial-services provider Macquarie Group to boost its stake to 49%.

Macquarie, one of the world's largest private infrastructure investors by assets under management, made the investment through its Macquarie Infrastructure Partners VI fund.
