Quantinuum Raises $600 Million in Latest Funding Round for $10 Billion Valuation

By Connor Hart

Quantinuum raised $600 million in its latest funding round, valuing the quantum-computing company at $10 billion before the investment, Honeywell International said Thursday.

The round drew new backing from Quanta Computer as well as NVentures--Nvidia's venture-capital arm--and QED Investors, alongside re-investments from existing shareholders including JPMorgan Chase, Mitsui, Amgen and Honeywell itself.

Honeywell formed Quantinuum in 2021 by merging its own quantum unit with Cambridge Quantum. The Charlotte, N.C., industrial conglomerate is Quantinuum's largest shareholder with a majority stake.

The latest capital raise is set to accelerate development of Quantinuum's next-generation Helios system, which is expected to debut later this year, Honeywell said. Prior, Quantinuum closed a $300 million equity fundraise in January 2024 that valued the company at roughly $5 billion.

Honeywell ultimately aims to take Quantinuum public between the end of 2026 and 2027, Barron's reported earlier this year, citing a person with direct knowledge of the matter.

Quantum companies and supporters have touted the technology's potential to transform industries from finance to pharmaceuticals, while skeptics have raised concerns over quantum computers' potential to break the cryptography used today to secure data.
