Sandoz Reaches Pact With Regeneron on Enzeevu Patent Disputes
By Aimee Look
Sandoz said it reached an agreement with Regeneron to resolve patent disputes over its Enzeevu product, a retinal disease medication approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The Swiss pharmaceutical company said Tuesday that it can enter the U.S. market with Enzeevu, one year after Regeneron launched a patent dispute over a biologically-similar treatment.
In Aug. 2024, Regeneron had filed in a U.S. Federal District Court in New Jersey saying that Sandoz infringed 46 patents for its Regeneron's Eylea product.
The two products aid patients with neovascular age-related macular degeneration and other retinal diseases.
Sandoz plans to launch its Enzeevu product by the end of 2026, bolstering its biosimilar portfolio and growth strategy in the U.S., it said.
