Daimler Buses Signs Cooperation Pact With Turkish Bus Manufacturer Otokar

Daimler Truck Holding's bus unit said it signed a partnership with Turkish bus manufacturer Otokar to supply components for Mercedes-Benz Conecto City buses beginning in September 2026.

The German bus manufacturer of brands like Mercedes-Benz and Setra said Thursday that it will provide major components and specific equipment to Okotar, which will then manufacture the buses at its own plant. A team from Daimler will support production of the Conecto City bus. Financial details of the agreement weren't disclosed.

The deal marks an expansion of Daimler's production capacity with strong demand for Mercedes-Benz and Setra brands, it said. In the first half of 2025, sales for Daimler buses increased by 8% year-over-year to around 13,200 units, it said.
