Iberdrola agreed to buy Previ's stake in Neoenergia for roughly 1.88 billion euros ($2.20 billion) in a deal that increases its control over its Brazilian subsidiary.

The Spanish energy company said Thursday that it agreed to buy Previ's 30.29% stake in the company. After the transaction, Iberdrola will control 83.8% of Neoenergia.

Neoenergia generates and distributes wind, hydroelectric and solar electricity in Brazil.

The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2025.
