L'Oreal Names New U.S. CEO and Chairman, Shuffles Executive Committee

By Aimee Look

L'Oreal rearranged a number of leaders within its executive committee Wednesday---appointing David Greenberg to a newly formed position as chairman of L'Oreal USA, and Alexis Perakis-Valat as chief executive of L'Oreal USA and president of its North American operations.

Greenberg has been at the French beauty group for more than 32 years, and previously was CEO of L'Oreal USA and North American president, the company said. He led operations in the U.S., which became the group's number growth driver for three years in a row, the company said.

Perakis-Valat will take over Greenberg's role, from his current position as president of the company's consumer products division. He has been at L'Oreal since 1994, and held positions across France, Spain, Germany and China.

Taking Perakis-Valat's position as president of consumer products is Fabrice Megarbane, who currently is the company's chief global growth officer and previously led L'Oreal's China operations. Megarbane's successor will be Vianney Derville, who is president of the company's Europe operations.

L'Oreal also appointed Emmanuel Goulin to fill Derville's position. He currently is president of travel retail. Eva Yu will take Goulin's position. Yu currently is the president and managing director of the company's Hong Kong subsidiary.
