Rocket Pharmaceuticals Pulls FDA Application for RP-L102 Gene Therapy
By Colin Kellaher
Rocket Pharmaceuticals has withdrawn its application seeking Food and Drug Administration approval of its RP-L102 proposed gene therapy for the treatment of the rare, inherited blood disorder Fanconi anemia.
Rocket on Friday said the move follows the reorganization and pipeline prioritization the biotechnology company announced in July that included a 30% reduction in its workforce.
The Cranbury, N.J., company in July said it would focus its resources on programs with the clearest regulatory and commercial pathways, and that it no longer expected FDA approval of RP-L102 in 2026.
Rocket, which previously ceased new internal investment in RP-L102 and withdrew its European marketing authorization application, said it will consider external partnership opportunities that could enable the advancement of RP-L102 in the future.
