Nikon Shares Rise After EssilorLuxottica Raises Stake

Nikon shares rose after EssilorLuxottica raised its stake in the Japanese company to above 10%.

Shares of Nikon were recently 3.6% higher at 1,800 yen, equivalent to $12.21, on Monday in Tokyo.

The Franco-Italian maker of Ray-Ban glasses said in a regulatory filing on Monday that it now held a 10.6% stake in the maker of cameras and other optics equipment after having acquired shares in the market, up from a 9.5% stake previously.

EssilorLuxottica said it held the stake for pure investment.
