National Presto Industries received a $139.3 million order from the U.S. Army for high velocity practice cartridges used by grenade launchers.

The appliance and defense technology firm said Tuesday that the order, issued to its wholly owned subsidiary AMTEC, is the second delivery order under the unit's current five-year indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract.

The order is for 40mm M918E2 high velocity practice cartridges, which have a signature impact and can be seen day or night by the unaided eye. The contract, originally disclosed in May 2024, has a ceiling value of $818.9 million.

Deliveries on the order will commence in early 2027, the company said.
