Coca-Cola Halts fairlife U.S. Production After Cyber Incident — Update
By Josh Beckerman
Coca-Cola has temporarily suspended U.S. production at its fairlife dairy business after unauthorized access to systems in connection with a ransomware event.
Product quality and safety haven't been impacted by the incident, the company said Thursday. The cyber incident also included access to the company's production-related systems.
Canada production operations weren't affected, Coca-Cola said.
Coca-Cola said in a securities filing that it hasn't yet determined whether the incident is reasonably likely to materially affect the company.
Fairlife provides lactose-free items including ultra-filtered milk and protein shakes.
In January 2020, Coca-Cola said it acquired the remaining stake in fairlife LLC from joint venture partner Select Milk Producers. Coca-Cola said in March that it planned to invest $650 million to expand production capacity at its fairlife facility in Coopersville, Mich.
