Coca-Cola Resumes Fairlife Production After Cyber Incident
By Connor Hart
Coca-Cola said it has resumed the majority of production at its Fairlife dairy business.
Fairlife makes lactose-free milk, including ultra-filtered milk and protein shakes. Production was temporarily suspended earlier this month following a ransomware event, in which an unauthorized third party accessed the company's systems data.
Coca-Cola on Monday said it continues to work diligently to restore impacted systems and operations, and that the majority of production has resumed across Fairlife's four U.S. facilities.
Retail availability of Fairlife products has been largely unaffected, due to the availability of existing inventory, Coca-Cola said. Product quality and safety haven't been impacted, it added.
Coca-Cola said it doesn't expect the incident to have a material impact on its financial condition or results of operations.
Coca-Cola said it had acquired the remaining stake in Fairlife from joint venture partner Select Milk Producers in January 2020. The company said earlier this year that it planned to invest $650 million to expand production capacity at its Fairlife facility in Coopersville, Mich.
