Morgan Stanley Investment Management Buys Australian Gas Firm Epic Energy
By Katherine Hamilton
Morgan Stanley Investment Management and its private infrastructure investment platform acquired the Australian gas pipeline operator Epic Energy.
The deal is set to close in the second half of this year, subject to regulatory approvals, Morgan Stanley said Monday.
Epic Energy owns and operates the Moomba to Adelaide Pipeline System, which connects gas resources in northern Australia to Adelaide, the capital of South Australia.
The system has operated for more than 50 years and is one of only two pipeline systems serving Adelaide.
Terms weren't immediately disclosed.
