PepsiCo Launching Alvalle Gazpacho in U.S.
By Josh Beckerman
PepsiCo announced the U.S. launch of Alvalle gazpacho, calling the debut a step in its expansion into "fresh, meal-adjacent foods and the growing chilled category."
Alvalle is sold at select Whole Foods Market locations.
PepsiCo said the debut reflects broader food trends like the "rising importance of the chilled grocery aisle as a discovery destination."
PepsiCo bought Spain-based gazpacho maker Alvalle in 1999. In February, PepsiCo said new Alvalle hot soups would debut in Spain, with plans to expand into Portugal and Western Europe.
PepsiCo's food brands include Lay's, Doritos and Quaker.
