Roche's U.S. Subsidiary Genentech to Invest $750 Million in Manufacturing Expansion
By Aimee Look
Roche subsidiary Genentech is planning to invest around $750 million into a manufacturing expansion to bolster its drug manufacturing capabilities in the U.S.
The unit plans to invest in a new facility at its 75-acre campus in Hillsboro, Oregon, it said.
Its new facility plans to support the manufacturing of advanced drug delivery devices---like pre-filled syringes and autoinjectors---which play a rising role in how medicines are delivered, it said.
The expansion is anticipated to create around 250 high-wage manufacturing jobs and some 200 construction jobs during site development, it said.
Commercial operations are expected to begin in 2031, it said.
