Pratt & Whitney to Invest $25 Million to Expand Polish Engine Making Site
By Katherine Hamilton
RTX's Pratt & Whitney is investing $25 million to expand its manufacturing site in Niepolomice, Poland.
The expanded site, which makes complex tubular assemblies for commercial and military engines, is expected to become operational in 2028 and create more than 120 jobs.
The site already provides precision components for multiple engine types, including the Pratt & Whitney GTF engine for commercial passenger aircraft, the PW800 for business jets and the F135 for all variants of the F-35 Lightning II fighter jet.
The investment is supported by the Polish government through the Polish Investment Zone Program, Pratt & Whitney said.
Friday's announcement follows Pratt & Whitney's $100 million investment in facilities in Rzeszow, Poland, to increase production capacity.
Poland represents RTX's biggest investment and employee base outside the U.S., with more than 9,500 workers across its Collins Aerospace, Pratt &Whitney and Raytheon businesses.
