CME Group Names Jack Tobin as Next Chief Financial Officer

CME Group has tapped Jack Tobin as the next chief financial officer of the derivatives marketplace.

CME Group on Wednesday said Tobin, 63 years old, will become chief financial officer in March 2027 when Lynne Fitzpatrick, currently president and finance chief, becomes chief executive of the Chicago company.

The company in June said Terry Duffy, who has been chairman since 2002 and CEO since 2016, would hand the reins to Fitzpatrick next year and become executive chairman.

Tobin, who joined CME Group in 2002 and has been chief accounting officer since 2015, will become deputy chief financial officer in November, with Matthew Render succeeding him as accounting chief, the company said.

Render, 47, joined CME Group as deputy chief accounting officer last month.

CME Group also said Jonathan Marcus, who has been general counsel since 2022, is stepping down this month and will be succeeded by John Marchese, who has been managing director and associate general counsel for litigation and information technology since 2024.
