Blackstone Agrees to Buy Data Center Cooling Firm Flow Control
By Katherine Hamilton
Blackstone agreed to acquire Flow Control, a provider of flow control solutions and components for data center liquid cooling.
Private equity funds affiliated with Blackstone Capital Partners and Blackstone Energy Transition Partners will buy the firm from Audax Private Equity, the company said Thursday.
Audax will retain a minority equity stake and continue to collaborate with Blackstone and management to support Flow Control.
Flow Control, which is headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, provides components to original equipment manufacturers and hyperscalers for coolant distribution units and other products.
Cooling for data centers is crucial for their operation, as more companies are building and using the sites to fuel AI development. Liquid cooling is an alternative to air cooling that is designed to be more energy efficient.
Terms of the deal weren't disclosed. The deal is slated to close in the fourth quarter.
