Anthropic and Accenture to Spend $2 Billion on AI Safety
By Katherine Hamilton
Anthropic and Accenture agreed to a $2 billion deal to integrate more safety protocols in Anthropic's internal systems, as AI executives call for more guardrails in the industry.
The two companies will establish a team of embedded evaluators to work alongside Anthropic's internal teams and partners to evaluate and test safety models.
The two companies each expect to invest at least $1 billion over five years in AI safety
Accenture said it will lean on its recent acquisition of Faculty, an applied AI company, to help in the partnership. Faculty, which Accenture acquired in March, specializes in testing and evaluating AI models to make sure they are safe.
Last weekend, Anthropic Chief Executive Dario Amodei said the AI industry needed to come together to introduce more safety evaluators for AI. OpenAI's chief executive echoed that warning in a social media post later this week, and Microsoft put out a new set of safety protocols for AI.
