My wife never went back to work after raising -2-

When you both agreed that you and your wife should have children, and she should give birth to those children after being pregnant for nine months - an incalculable human achievement - you took different paths. You got a lot out of your wife's at-home support. She was a homemaker, raising your two children. You raised them too, but did so before and after work, and on weekends.

As one member of the Moneyist Facebook (META) Group wrote: "I'll never forget, as a young woman, I attended my friend's father's retirement party. His wife, who had stayed home to raise the children, asked when she would get to retire? She said, 'I'll still cook three meals most days, do the shopping, laundry, and clean the house. It will never end, and no one will throw a big party for me.'"

Your imperfect, wonderful life was always a shared endeavor.
