Tao Guo is the Director of Retirement Research at Morningstar Retirement. He is responsible for maintaining and developing the financial planning and portfolio assignment methodologies for Morningstar Retirement’s advice engine. Guo maintains an active research agenda integrating investment management and financial planning, pursuing research ideas around the use of lifetime income product, retirement income management, and retiree well-being.

Before joining Morningstar in 2021, he was a tenure-track college professor and researcher.

Guo holds a Ph.D. in Financial Planning and holds a Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement, and is a CFA Charter holder and CFP professional.

How we approach editorial content
