Tyler Dann, CFA, is director of equity research, methodology, at Morningstar. He oversees the team's economic moat, valuation, and capital allocation methodologies as applied to individual stock-level analysis and industry analysis, and as deployed in equity research analyst pick lists and other portfolios.
Before joining Morningstar in 2021, Dann was a portfolio manager and senior research analyst at RS Value Group (an investment franchise of Victory Capital Holdings) and Invesco. Over the course of his buy-side investing career, Dann was responsible for equity investments spanning large-, mid-, and small-capitalization stocks across all sectors. Before joining Invesco, Dann served as an equity analyst covering the energy sector at Bank of America, Credit Suisse, and SBC Warburg.
Dann holds a bachelor’s degree in Germanic languages and literatures from Princeton University. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.
