Strategy

The investment seeks current income and, secondarily, capital appreciation. The fund invests, under normal circumstances, at least 80% of its net assets (plus any borrowings for investment purposes) in the securities of real estate and real estate related issuers, and in derivatives and other instruments that have economic characteristics similar to such securities. It may invest up to 30% of its net assets in below-investment grade securities (commonly known as "junk bonds") of real estate and real estate related issuers.
