Janus Henderson has announced that comanager Nick Schommer will step down from his portfolio management responsibilities at the end of 2026 and leave the firm on May 1, 2027. He has worked at Janus Henderson for 13 years, including nearly 10 years as a comanager on this strategy. While Schommer's planned departure is a notable upcoming change, the firm added a replacement by appointing Shilpee Raina as a lead manager alongside Brian Recht, effective Jan. 1, 2027. Raina joins the firm from J.P. Morgan Asset Management, where she most recently served as comanager of JPMorgan U.S. Equity. Earlier in her tenure, she was a research analyst for JPMorgan Equity Income and U.S. Value, covering the consumer sector. While she brings relevant expertise in large-cap investing and over 20 years of industry experience, she, much like Schommer and Recht, hasn’t yet established her credentials as a lead manager. The firm says that no changes to the investment approach are expected, though that won’t be clear until Raina has a chance to get settled in the new role. Accordingly, the strategy’s Average People rating, Average Process rating, and overall Morningstar Medalist Ratings still apply.
