Analyst Note

Effective Sept. 29, 2026, Vanguard added Cesar Orosco, the head of quantitative equity, to the management team of Vanguard Equity-Income. On this strategy, Orosco joins Sharon Hill, a senior portfolio manager and head of a team that manages income-oriented mandates (such as this strategy), global factor funds, and select multi-asset strategies. She has been lead manager of the quantitative sleeve of Vanguard Equity-Income, with very strong results, since Feb. 26, 2021. Orosco remains a manager of Vanguard Strategic Equity and Vanguard Strategic Small-Cap Equity, which he has led since Feb. 26, 2021, with extremely strong results. This move comes as part of a set of manager changes on 14 mutual funds where the quantitative group manages the strategy or a portion of it. In each case, the fund had a single quantitative group portfolio manager and going forward will have two. These moves add another expert to each strategy and strengthen its resilience.
