Effective Sept. 29, 2026, Vanguard added Scott Rodemer, a senior portfolio manager and head of Vanguard’s US alpha equity team, to the management team of Vanguard Strategic Equity and Vanguard Strategic Small-Cap Equity. Rodemer joined Vanguard in 2004 and QEG in 2007 and has recently led the global trading desk as well as a team of quantitative portfolio managers running domestic equity portfolios. He has not previously been a named manager of a US mutual fund. Cesar Orosco remains as lead manager. He is the head of quantitative equity and has managed these closely related strategies since Feb. 26, 2021, with extremely strong results. This addition does not change the strategies’ People ratings or Morningstar Medalist Ratings. Vanguard announced manager changes on 14 mutual funds where its quantitative group manages the strategy or a portion of it. In each case, the fund had a single quantitative group portfolio manager and going forward will have two. These moves add another expert to each strategy and strengthen its resilience.
