Cabaletta Bio Shares Rise on Autoimmune-Disease Trial Results

By Katherine Hamilton

Cabaletta Bio shares gained after the company shared positive clinical data about its trials for treatment of multiple autoimmune diseases.

The stock rose 13% to $2.79. Shares are up 23% this year.

The clinical data reinforces the potential of a single weight-based dose of Cabaletta's treatment rese-cel to deliver durable, drug-free clinical responses across multiple autoimmune diseases, Chief Medical Officer David Chang said Monday.

Rese-cel is an investigational cell therapy designed for the treatment of autoimmune diseases. It is administered as an infusion.

The data showed consistent responses through the primary endpoint of the registrational cohort of patients, Chang said. The Philadelphia-based company plans to initiate a registrational trial for treating the muscle-inflammation disease myositis, and anticipates the Food and Drug Administration will align on the designs for its lupus and systemic sclerosis trials.

Cabaletta said it is also accelerating its plans to initiate a no-preconditioning dose-escalation cohort for its systemic-sclerosis trial.
