Schneider Electric Posts Higher Revenue, Sees Recovery in Industrial Automation

By Nina Kienle

Schneider Electric posted higher revenue in the third quarter, when its industrial automation business returned to growth.

The French group on Thursday said that for the three-month period, revenue rose 9% organically to 9.72 billion euros ($11.28 billion), missing analysts' estimated 9.78 billion euros, according to a company-compiled consensus.

At the energy-management business, revenue grew on an organic basis by 9.7% to 8.04 billion euros. The business continued to benefit from strong growth in data-center demand, the group said.

Industrial automation revenue rose 6.0% on an organic basis to 1.69 billion euros.

All regions contributed to growth, the group said. North America posted organic revenue growth of 14.5%, while Asia Pacific was up 6.4%, it added.

Looking ahead, Schneider Electric backed its full-year outlook on sustained strong demand. It continues to target organic revenue growth of 7% to 10% and an adjusted Ebita organic growth 10%-15%, as well as an organic adjusted Ebita margin improvement of 0.5 to 0.8 percentage points.

The group is due to hold its capital markets day on Dec. 11.
