Italy's Generali Names Giulio Terzariol as Deputy CEO
By Elena Vardon
Assicurazioni Generali promoted the chief executive of its insurance division Giulio Terzariol to the position of group deputy CEO.
The Italian insurer on Wednesday said that Terzariol will now oversee Banca Generali, the company's private bank, on top of the insurance business he already headed.
Once the appointment becomes effective, the CEO Insurance role will stop existing, it said. Terzariol is expected to take on the position once the necessary regulatory approvals have been secured. The process usually takes around three months, it added.
"I am confident that the new organizational structure ... will further strengthen Generali's leadership and ensure the success of the strategic plan presented to the market this year," CEO Philippe Donnet said.
