0525 GMT - Samsung Electro-Mechanics is poised for a boom cycle next year, fueled by strong demand for multilayer ceramic capacitors, Nomura's Eon Hwang and Heesoo Min write in a note. They expect the South Korean electronics-component maker's operating profit to jump 34% to 1.2 trillion won in 2026, with its MLCC segment likely to account for more than 70% of total earnings. The analysts forecast a shipment increase for both industrial and auto MLCCs, driven by demand for artificial-intelligence data servers and increased sales of plug-in hybrid cars and battery electric vehicles. High-end AI data servers use 10 times more MLCCs than other servers, they add. (kwanwoo.jun@wsj.com)
