Motive Technologies Files for IPO

Motive Technologies, a fleet management and driver safety company valued at $2.85 billion as of May 2022, detailed its plans for an initial public offering.

The company is seeking a New York Stock Exchange listing under the symbol MTVE, according to its Form S-1 filing Friday. It said in September that it confidentially filed for a proposed IPO.

The San Francisco company's offerings include an AI Dashcam that detects high-risk behavior and sends in-cab alerts to modify behavior. According to its website Motive's technology can, "Minimize workplace injuries, costly fines, and reputational damage with automated job site monitoring."

In May, Motive said it raised $150 million in a funding round led by Kleiner Perkins, with participation from both existing investors and new investor AllianceBernstein. Other stockholders include Google Ventures, Greenoaks, Index Ventures, IVP and Scale Venture Partners.

Last year, Motive unveiled First Responder, developed with RapidSOS, which expedites an emergency response for commercial vehicle drivers in the event of a severe collision.

For the nine months ended Sept. 30, revenue rose 22% to $327 million.
