ICU Medical Recalls IV Gravity Burette Set, FDA Says

ICU Medical is recalling its IV Gravity Burette Set which could cause serious injury or even death, according to U.S. health regulators.
The IV Gravity Burette Set is a medical device used to give fluids or medications through an intravenous line while allowing precise control over how much liquid is delivered.
The Food and Drug Administration said Tuesday that the burette components are missing an internal shut-off valve intended to stop fluid flow and which may cause serious injury or death.
The affected products have the following lot numbers, 14070544, 14126963 and 14130197.
The FDA said that as of Sept. 25, ICU Medical hasn't reported any serious injuries or deaths associated with this issue.
In early October, the regulator recommended to affected customers that no one use these products, but instead destroy them, or quarantine them until disposal.
