WiseTech to Sell Expedient to Appease Competition Regulator

By Stuart Condie

SYDNEY--Logistics software developer WiseTech Global will sell its Expedient Software unit to address regulators' competition concerns over its largest ever acquisition.

WiseTech on Wednesday said it had agreed with Australia's competition regulator to sell Expedient, which it acquired as part of this year's US$2.1 billion acquisition of U.S. supply-chain platform E2open.

ASX-listed WiseTech said Australia-based Expedient, which has fewer than30 staff, was expected to generate less than 0.4% of the US$1.39 billion-US$1.44 billion revenue it anticipates for the 12 months through June.

The sale will result in a one-off hit to goodwill of between US$5 million and US$20 million, WiseTech added.

About 30 minutes into Wednesday's session, shares in WiseTech were up by 0.5% at 68.16 Australian dollars, equivalent to US$45.65.
