Stereotaxis Shares Advance on FDA Approval for Magnetic Catheter

Shares of Stereotaxis advanced after the company said it received Food and Drug Administration approval for its Magnetic Interventional Ablation Catheter product.
The stock as up 14% to $2.70 in Tuesday morning trading. Shares have risen 3.6% in the past year.
The surgical robot company said the FDA had greenlit the product, which uses robotic magnet technology to perform cardiac ablation procedures to treat heart arrhythmia.
"FDA approval of MAGiC is a significant milestone for Stereotaxis and the community of physicians pioneering robotics in electrophysiology," Chief Executive Officer David Fischel said Tuesday.
"It ensures the benefits of Robotic Magnetic Navigation can support patients with complex and critical heart rhythm disorders, represents a major advance in robotic cardiac ablation technology, and provides a foundation for continued technological and clinical progress," he added.
