Amazon Discloses 5.3% Stake in Beta Technologies - Update

Amazon.com disclosed a 5.3% stake in Beta Technologies, an electric aerospace company that went public last year.

Amazon.com NV Investment Holdings, a subsidiary of Amazon, owns about 11.8 million shares in Beta, according to a Tuesday filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Amazon initially announced its investment in Beta in 2021 as part of its climate-focused fund.

Vermont-based Beta designs, manufactures and sells electric aircraft, electric-propulsion systems, components and charging systems.

Shares of Beta climbed 19%, to $19.94, in after-hours trading. Through market close, shares have slid 51% in the past three months.
