Danone Revenue Rises Amid Infant Formula Recalls

By Aimee Look

Danone booked a rise in like-for-like revenue for the fourth quarter of 2025, though a series of infant formula recalls have cast a pall over the rosy results.

The French food company--which houses brands like Activia yogurt and Evian water--reported a 4.7% rise in like-for-like sales for the fourth quarter. Analysts had expected like-for-like sales growth of 4.4% for the quarter, according to company-compiled estimates.

Its rise in sales comes as the company remains embroiled in a series of infant formula recalls, alongside rivals like Nestle, which has triggered 60 countries to issue warnings or pull labels off the shelf.

The company said it expects like-for-like sales to grow between 3% and 5% in 2026, while the current financial impact of the infant formula recalls is not material and will be estimated once it is completed.

For the fourth quarter, volumes grew 2.5%, while prices increased 2.1%, the company said.

On a reported basis, sales in the fourth quarter fell to 6.68 billion euros, compared with 6.72 billion euros in the same period a year prior. Analysts had expected 6.67 billion euros in sales for the quarter.
