Allianz Posts Rise in Operating Profit, Issues In-Line Guidance
By Elena Vardon
Allianz delivered a record operating profit for 2025 and issued guidance for the year ahead as it reported growth across its key metrics for the last year's final quarter.
Europe's largest insurer by market capitalization on Thursday guided for a 2026 operating profit--a metric that reflects its core operations and strips out exceptional and other one-off items--of 17.4 billion euros ($20.55 billion), with a one-billion-euro margin of error, in line with the 17.37 billion-euro result it posted for 2025.
For the three months ended Dec. 31, Allianz reported an operating profit that grew 3% on year to 4.30 billion euros on the strong performance across the retail and commercial lines of its large property and casualty business. Estimates stood at 4.28 billion euros according to a company-compiled consensus.
Total business volume, or revenue, increased 6.5% to 45.7 billion euros, it said. Net profit for the quarter came in at 2.66 billion euros, compared with 2.47 billion euros a year prior and consensus of 2.675 billion euro.
"We had an excellent start into our new strategic cycle," finance chief Claire-Marie Coste-Lepoutre said.
Allianz declared a dividend of 17.10 euros per share and said late Wednesday that it would launch an up to 2.5 billion-euro buyback program.
