BNP Paribas Targets Asset Management Growth Under 2030 Plan
By Adam Whittaker
BNP Paribas is targeting a near doubling in pretax income from its asset management unit by 2030 under a new strategic plan that builds on its acquisition of AXA Investment Managers.
The Paris-based bank said Tuesday it is seeking to grow assets under management by more than 5% a year over the life of the plan. This is expected to help drive a roughly 4% increase in revenue on a compound annual growth rate.
The company said it expects pretax income to nearly double by 2030 from the 820 million euros ($943.5 million) the unit reported in 2025.
The unit will help BNP Paribas meet its target for return on tangible equity--a key profitability metric--of 13% by 2028, it said.
Under the plan, the lender expects 150 million euros in revenue synergies and around 400 million euros in cost synergies by 2029.
