Jaguar Land Rover North America Recalling Vehicles Due to Converter Failures

By Christopher Kuo

Jaguar Land Rover North America is recalling various Land Rover and Jaguar vehicles due to problems with the vehicle converters that can cause them to lose driving power.

The company is recalling seven Land Rover models and two Jaguar models because of issues with DC-DC converter failure, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report.

The converter can fail due to an internal fault in the boost control microchip, according to the report. That can result in a loss of 12-volt system charging and the complete loss of drive power and exterior lighting.

The remedy for the recall is currently under development, according to the report.

The recalled models include 2021-2024 Land Rover Range Rover Velar and Land Rover Discovery, 2020-2023 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, 2019-2024 Land Rover Range Rover Sport, 2020-2024 Land Rover Range Rover, 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport, 2020-2024 Land Rover Defender, 2021-2024 Jaguar F-Pace and 2021-2022 Jaguar E-Pace mild-hybrid electric vehicles.
