Arms Maker CSG Teams Up With Azerbaijani Company to Repair Land Vehicles
By Cristina Gallardo
Arms maker CSG said its subsidiary Excalibur Army Azerbaijan and another company in the South Caucasus country will set up a joint venture to repair, service and modernize armored vehicles and other land-based military equipment.
The joint venture, named VEXA DS, will work on hundreds of units of equipment with a total value in the hundreds of millions of euros, Czech company CSG said Monday.
The agreement is expected for at least 10 years, and includes the construction of a repair facility in Azerbaijan that will serve the wider region, the Amsterdam-listed company added.
"We are proud that CSG is gradually establishing itself in a market that has recently attracted growing interest from a number of major defense companies and groups from Western Europe," said Vladimir Stulancak, chief executive of Excalibur Army.
