Air Liquide Revenue Rises on Gas, Services Business Strength

Air Liquide posted higher first-quarter revenue, boosted by its gas and services businesses performance.

The French industrial-gases company said Tuesday that revenue for the three-month period rose 1.9% on a comparable basis to 6.79 billion euros ($7.96 billion).

Its gas-and-services business--which represents the majority of group sales--was up 1.9% on a comparable basis at 6.595 billion euros, the company said.

Analysts had expected group revenue at 6.825 billion euros and revenue for the business at 6.63 billion euros, according to consensus estimates compiled by Vara Research.

Air Liquide backed its outlook for the year, continuing to remain confident in its ability to increase its operating margin by 100 basis points and deliver recurring net profit growth at constant exchange rates.
