Uber Acquires Additional Shares in Delivery Hero — Update

By Nina Kienle

Uber said it acquired additional shares in Delivery Hero, taking its stake to 19.5%.

The U.S. tech giant said Monday that it doesn't intend to acquire 30% or more of the German food-delivery group.

Delivery Hero said it welcomed the U.S. company's additional investment.

Last month, Amsterdam-listed Prosus--a subsidiary of investment firm Naspers--divested a stake made up of around 4.5% of Delivery Hero's capital. The move came after the European Commission approved Prosus's acquisition of Just Eat Takeaway.com, subject to commitments requiring the investor to significantly reduce its shareholding in Delivery Hero.
